Surface Drain Installation
Collecting and Directing Rain Water to the Storm Sewer System
Storm Drain Installation, Repair & Maintenance
Catch Basins: Collecting, Filtering and Directing Surface Water
Surface drains that catch the regular outdoor debris will help extend the maintenance cycle of the pipe but will still require cleaning to remove leaves, sediment, garbage and dirt.
On average, buildup restricts water entry and reduces drainage capacity every couple of years. Drains may become quite dirty raise to near the surface or stop accepting water altogether.
If you can see the water levels close to a surface grate, maintenance is required.

Surface Drain Cleaning & Maintenance
Inspect – Assess grates, catch basins and surrounding drainage areas for visible damage, blockages and water accumulation.
Remove debris – Clear leaves, dirt, sediment and other material from grates and catch basin chambers.
Pump Out & Empty – Pumping out substantial amounts of water (usually for commercial or strata properties) can be recommended every few years to keep water levels low if there is significant debris accumulated.
Clean Collection Chambers – Remove accumulated build up
Flush Connecting Pipes – Continue jetting to remove small blockages, clean pipe walls and optimize water movement to the end of the line.
Camera Inspect Pipe Lines – CCTV camera equipment is used not only while cleaning (have to see to clean!) and to confirm overall pipe condition when complete.

Understanding Surface Drainage Systems
Infrastructure working together
Surface drainage is a network of components working together to move rain water away from your property. Grates and catch basins collect and filter water at the surface, connecting pipes carry it underground to a collection chamber, and the system discharges into the municipal storm sewer or retention location.
When every part is clean and in good condition, water flows freely and your property stays protected. A blockage at any point can cause pooling, backups and water damage, which is why regular inspection and maintenance matter.

3. Leads to Sump Chambers & Filtration + Energy Dissipation
4. Leads Out To Final Outlet Removing Water from Property
